Your Role as a Senior Care Assistant

 

As a pivotal member of our team, you’ll ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents. Your experience and leadership skills will be crucial in supervising and mentoring care assistants to maintain the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promotes resident independence and dignity.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of individualised care plans.
  • Supervising and leading a team of care assistants, providing essential guidance and support.
  • Administering medications accurately and safely.
  • Maintaining accurate resident records.
  • Performing personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming).
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs, ensuring resident health and safety.
  • Communicating effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participating in developing, implementing, and updating care plans, including conducting review meetings.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised environment within the care home.
  • Upholding confidentiality and respecting residents’ rights and privacy.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Previous experience in a similar Senior Care Assistant role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Compassion and empathy for others.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive mindset and attitude.
  • This position requires a PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) check and two professional references.
