Your Role as a Senior Care Assistant
As a pivotal member of our team, you’ll ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents. Your experience and leadership skills will be crucial in supervising and mentoring care assistants to maintain the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promotes resident independence and dignity.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of individualised care plans.
- Supervising and leading a team of care assistants, providing essential guidance and support.
- Administering medications accurately and safely.
- Maintaining accurate resident records.
- Performing personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming).
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, ensuring resident health and safety.
- Communicating effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participating in developing, implementing, and updating care plans, including conducting review meetings.
- Maintaining a clean and organised environment within the care home.
- Upholding confidentiality and respecting residents’ rights and privacy.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience in a similar Senior Care Assistant role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Compassion and empathy for others.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive mindset and attitude.
- This position requires a PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) check and two professional references.
