Are you an experienced Assistant Psychologist with a passion for working with children and young people? An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen to join the Child Psychology Team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers the chance to contribute to specialist services in both Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) assessments and therapeutic support for long-term physical health conditions.

Salary: £29,970 – £36,483 per year.
About the Role: Key Responsibilities
You’ll work across Bradford Hospital’s Clinical Health Psychology service and the Airedale Child Development Centre (CDC), focusing on two key pathways:
1. Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) Pathway (Ages 0-7y):
- Supporting children and parents/carers through the ASC assessment process.
- Conducting observations in education and home settings.
- Undertaking a variety of specialist assessments under the clinical oversight of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
- Providing follow-up support after assessment and diagnosis.
2. General Paediatrics Pathway (Long-Term Physical Health Conditions):
- Delivering psychological support to children and young people.
- Supporting both individual and group interventions.
- Contributing to service evaluations.
You’ll work collaboratively as a vital member of established multidisciplinary teams, contributing to both assessment and therapeutic input.
Who We’re Looking For: Essential & Desirable
Experience:
- Essential:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist.
- Prior experience working directly with individuals with behavioural, cognitive, and emotional difficulties within the NHS.
- Experience working with children and young people, including those with ASC.
- Proficiency in using psychometric measures.
- Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Desirable:
- Experience working with children with complex health needs and/or disability, and their families.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- An Honours Degree in Psychology (at least a 2:1 standard, or a 2:2 with a relevant Master’s degree).
- Eligibility for HCPC Registration and/or Graduate membership of the BPS.
- Desirable:
- Further postgraduate training in relevant areas of psychology and/or research design and analysis.
